Finally Made it!!!

We made it!! We had good flights from Dallas to Miami and then finally to Haiti. Once we arrived in Haiti....the chaos began!!! Once we got off the plane and cleared immigration, the process of collecting all 50 plus bags of luggage began. With the help of David Heady from the Global outreach mission, we were able to load everything onto carts that we were now going to push through the gates, out into the streets and finally into a van and truck about a 1/2 a block away!! Once outside the gate, the crowd of people began to push, shove, touch and yell at us as we walked. We were told to ignore them.......and we did......but even after loading everything in the vehicles and getting into the van, they were pounding and tapping on the windows until we pulled away!!!

The travel through the streets was quite scary, but David Heady is a pro and we arrived safely at the hospital. We are staying at the Guest House in the hospital grounds, and it is quite secure. We will all be working at St. Damiens hospital, except for Dr. Joel Johnston, as he will be going out into the field in a mobile clinic.

We are currently setting up our "home away from homes" and sleeping under our mosquito netting!!!!
